When you the home owner calls a contractor to preform a furnace tune-up. Most contractors will come in and do just that ,a tune-up. Makes recommendations on a furnace replacement if more than 10 years older. Well you say to yourself, that,s fine the contractor did his job. Here at RCM we do not look at it that way. We look at the whole system. The furnace is only part of your system. I am sure the contractor preform a good tune-up , say you have a 92% eff. furnace and your furnace is now running a max 92 eff%. That,s great ,right, wrong .Even though you furnace is working at max 92 eff% your could be wasting up to 20% or more of you heating dollar somewhere else in your system Your as a customer are not aware of this. Here at RCM we will preform a tune-up and due a complete checkup on your whole system. If you system is losing eff% somewhere else. RCM will bring it to your attention and our methods to correct it. So your getting the max 92% eff from furnace to home heating areas
If your HVAC equipment is more than 10 years old or not keeping your house comfortable, have it evaluated by a professional HVAC contractor. If it is not performing efficiently or needs upgrading, consider replacing it with a unit that has earned the ENERGY STAR. Depending on where you live, replacing your old heating and cooling equipment with ENERGY STAR qualified equipment can cut your annual energy bill by nearly $200. But before you invest in a new HVAC system, make sure that you have addressed the big air leaks in your house and the duct system. Sometimes, these are the real sources of problems rather than your HVAC equipment.
My Personal View on this: Its like having your car tune up to improve gas mileage and not knowing you are wasting gas because of a hole in your in your gas tank.
